Philemon
Study 1 – Philemon
- Paul held tremendous
authority over people in the church, but he took great care to treat
people on the basis of brothers rather than as an authority figure. He
appeals to Philemon to respond to Onesimus with love, and to treat him as
a brother in Christ and no longer as a slave.
- It appears that Onesimus has repented of his wrongdoing and has come to relationship with Christ. As Christians were should not only make ourselves useful in the church; we should also make ourselves useful where we work or go to school. We should be shining examples of the type of people that employers and teachers desire to have around.
